Rather impressive and a lot better than the wooden katana I've fashioned from Crepe Mytrle. Fun to do, however and it occupies the hands and mind.
Sorry about the spelling- should be Crepe Myrtle wood. I had a need for a cane and it turned out as a katana with a small ball at the tip for stability. It was fun to do.
It looks like it might be good for opening parcels but I don't know if it would keep an edge sharp enough for cutting plastic tape and wrapping. A longer bladed version would make a very fine letter opener. You're certainly getting great value from that dogwood tree anyway.
Yeah... what the hell... this aint a slingshot.... put some rubber on that thing :P
Are you feeling a bit shanky.
Is it sharp enough to cut something or did you only make it to stab zombies? ;)Pikeman is right. A letter opener would be nice and cutting down the dogwood was surely a gain for your collection of cool stuff.
Nice Mad Skills
Are you a slingshot designer or crafter by trade?
You have many skills, Joerg. I especially enjoyed PrayforRiches.com and also The Ressurection Drug. I have commented before on your inventive mind, but yet I was again surprised. Well done.
Tosh Togo, yes, I enjoy writing a lot. Which is a good thing, I will enroll at the University of Essen on Tuesday, for my PhD (have found a doctor father for my thesis). Never to late for learning.
Yellow :)I am afraid that half of dogwood in Europe will be cut down after your posts here :)Any small roman ancient soldiers in the house? Nice petit roman gladius/pugio :-DCheersRafal
Very cute. Nice shape. Cheers
Haha, good for taking into an airport.... Wait a minute, cannons, undetectable daggers, bald, maybe Jörg is a terrorist.OH NO
I have done many things in my life, but never, not even for one tiny split second, have I toyed with the idea to become a terrorist.
Looks coolbut is it sharp?
it looks like it would be a bad a** cake server
Thank god you dont want to be a terrorist lol.
Looks kind of Roman to me :)
what do you use it for?
Very nice i had tried that a few times with varying results. The best wood i found to make a knife out of was lignum vitae a very very hard wood that even sinks in water.most types also turn green in sunlight. not easy to work with but one wood i often come back to for many projects needing something hard and non metal.
if you want ideas on how to make a shank I have found a few in the course of my duties and I have research the subject as well lol
This is great, even my wife loves this one! LOL! First thing she asked is how much are they and do they come in any colors? *laughing*
It's nice, but I recommend more of a fillet between the blade and guard.
